Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 29 August 2026
J-Bros Detailing wants this website to work for everyone who wants to book a detail, get a quote or read about what we do, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard only, magnification, or reduced motion turned on. This page sets out what we have actually built, what we are still working on, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
The standard we build to
This site is built to the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We want to be straight with you about what that sentence means and what it does not: it means AA is the target we design and code against, and that we check our work against it. It is not a claim that an independent auditor has certified this site as fully conformant, because none has. We would rather tell you where we actually are than put a badge on the page.
What is implemented today
These are things you can verify on the site right now, not intentions:
- Semantic structure and landmarks. Every page uses real headings in order, real lists and real landmark regions, so a screen reader can move through the page by structure instead of reading it top to bottom.
- A skip link. The first thing keyboard focus reaches on every page is a "Skip to content" link, so you are not tabbing through the navigation on every single page.
- Keyboard operation and visible focus. Every link, button, form field and expandable FAQ works from the keyboard, and focused elements carry a visible focus ring rather than relying on the browser default being noticeable.
- Colour contrast checked as a rule, not a guess. Body text, links and buttons use a fixed set of colour tokens chosen to meet AA contrast in both the light and dark themes. Links are underlined as well as coloured, so identifying them never depends on seeing the blue.
- Reduced motion is respected. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site's transitions and reveal animations do not run.
- Text alternatives for images. Photos that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text; images that are purely decorative are hidden from assistive technology instead of being announced as noise.
- Text that scales. The site reflows for zoom and small screens without content being cut off or trapped behind horizontal scrolling.
- Labelled forms. The quote form's fields have real labels, and errors are described in text rather than signalled by colour alone.
The site passes the automated accessibility checks we run against it, and we re-run them when pages change.
What we are still working on
Automated checks catch a real but limited share of accessibility problems. They cannot tell you whether a heading actually makes sense, whether an image description is useful, or whether a page is genuinely usable with a screen reader. Testing with assistive technology, and with people who use it every day, is ongoing rather than finished, and until it is done we will not claim more than that. We are also aware that third-party content we embed, such as the Google Map on our contact page, is outside our direct control, and we will replace or supplement anything there that turns out to be a barrier.
Tell us if something does not work
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to know, and we would rather hear about it than have you give up on booking. Call or text 0418 111 421, or email info@j-brosdetailing.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened, and include the device, browser or assistive technology you were using if you can. We aim to respond within two business days and to tell you honestly whether we can fix it, how long it will take, or why we cannot.
If the website is the barrier, it does not have to stand between you and the service. Every quote we give can be handled entirely by phone, text or email instead, and nothing on this site is the only route to booking a job with us.
